My love of carpentry started when I was just six years old helping out in a local furniture factory. At the tender age of 9 I had acquired enough experience and skill through watching and learning to progress to a carpenter’s helper.
At 17 I opened my own workshop in downtown Tehran making functional wooden chairs. With a staff that eventually grew to over one hundred in the ensuing years, we mainly supplied chairs to furniture stores throughout the country. I continued to study part-time while running the workshop, which at this point was providing an income to support my entire family.
